OE Seb Fathi shares architecture application expertise
Alumnus Seb Fathi (2014) visited the Exeter School Art department to conduct one-to-one tutorials with aspiring architects in the Sixth Form.
Seb graduated with a first-class honours in BSc Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL and gained admission to top architecture schools globally including the AA, Cooper Union, Cornell and SCI-Arc among others.
Before his degree, Sebastian completed an architecture intensive at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He acted as senior mentor to first year students during his last two years at the Bartlett and has worked for both architects and artists in the UK and the US under scholarships. He is currently completing his RIBA Part 1 in New York as a designer for a world-renowned studio.
Seb has set up an independent admissions consultancy, ‘ArchitecturePrep’, which specialises in helping pupils applying to architecture schools develop top quality applications and portfolios for interviews. Before this, he worked for two separate admissions consultancies for a total of two years. With some architecture schools exhibiting 5% acceptance rates it can be invaluable to have a specialised advisory during applications.
Head of Art, Alison Escott, said: “We are most grateful to Seb for giving up his time to meet with our aspiring architects and share his knowledge and understanding of the competitive application process.
“His pragmatic advice and first-hand experience has given our Sixth Form pupils much food for thought and helpful tips which they can put into practice as they prepare for university interviews in the coming months.”
