Community Service tea party

Exeter School pupils and staff welcomed over 100 guests to school at the end of term for the annual Community Service tea party.

Following Final Assembly, the dining hall was swiftly set up for the annual event for local senior citizens, known to the school through links with Church outreach groups, local care homes or as individuals visited on a regular basis by some of our senior pupils as part of their Friday afternoon service option.

A delightful festive spread had been prepared by the catering team along with musical accompaniment from the Senior Vocal Ensemble and members of Junior School Singers.

Our guests enjoyed the opportunity to sit and reminisce with some of our senior pupils, listen to some seasonal thoughts from Reverend Tom, before everyone joined in with some traditional carols.

Mr Mike Wilcock, who runs the school’s Community Service Group and co-ordinates the event, had also arranged for Father Christmas to find time in his busy schedule to drop in to distribute presents to our guests on behalf of the whole school community, following a recent collection.

It was, as always, a most delightful way to finish the term
