Worldwise Quiz Champions

Three trivia experts, Middle Fifth Formers Emma Halford, Oliver Irons and Otto Oldridge, put their knowledge to the test in the annual Worldwise Quiz. This consisted of five rounds including capital cities, questions on physical and human landscapes, a difficult map navigation and a rather cruel picture reveal round.

Despite the challenge, the Exeter School team performed remarkably well scoring 62 points out of a possible 75, overcoming King's Taunton, Queen's Taunton, The Castle School and West Buckland to win the competition.

Geography teacher Phil Hyde said this marked the second year in a row the co-educational independent school had won which means Exeter School will host again next year.

“Thank you to all members of the Geography department who gave up their spare time to produce resources and help organise the quiz as well as their evening offering support to the team and ensuring the smooth running of the quiz,” he said.

The team were selected following the House Geography Quiz competition where all nine houses put forward a team. This was won by Collins House.
