Alumna’s second Cambridge Blue
Kate Marks (2013 - 2015)
Vice-Captain of Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (CURUFC) Kate Marks (2013 - 2015) played in her second Varsity match on Thursday 7 December at Twickenham.
In the exciting match, former RFU Ambassador Kate scored Cambridge’s third try racing away from the back of the scrum for a try at short range. The assertive Cambridge performance and their control of the conditions enabled them to achieve a win over rivals Oxford 24-0.
Kate said the varsity match this year was a phenomenal experience.
“As vice-captain, I was incredibly proud to assist in leading the team to such a well-worked victory,” she said.
“It was a surreal moment to score a try at such a historic stadium and is something I will never forget.”
Kate’s family were watching from the stands and her mother, Headmistress of Exeter Junior School Sue Marks, said it was a hugely proud moment and a fantastic occasion.
Exeter School alumna and BBC broadcaster Sara Orchard (1998 – 2000) commentated on the Varsity match.
