Saturday 10 September

1st XV v Wellington - won 32 – 14

2nd XV v Wellington - won 26 – 19

U16 v Wellington - won 36 – 7

U15 v Wellington - lost 17 – 21

U14 v Wellington - lost 0 – 21

U13 v Wellington - lost 15 – 35

U12 v Wellington - won 35 – 5

Head of Rugby Mr Ross said there was some really committed performances against teams that were physically bigger than us and a true spirit of Exeter School rugby shone through.

"The U12s in their first game together played some expansive fast paced rugby moving the ball well to score some excellent team tries.

"Again at home the 16s played some really great rugby to deserve a big victory and the 2nd XV showed excellent character to turn around a 14 point deficit and win the game."

U13 v Wellington - won 4 - 0

U13 v St Peter's - won 2 - 0

U13 v Blundell's - won 1 - 0

U13 v Blundell's B - won 3-1

U13 v Taunton who came third overall

U13 v Blundell's - 0 - 0 (They came second)

U13 v Millfield A - drew 1-1 (They won overall and won all their other games.

Mrs Marsh said it was a really good afternoon and we narrowly missed third.

1st XI v Sherborne -  won 2 - 0

1st XI v King's Taunton - lost 0 - 1

1st XI v Wellington - won 2 - 0

1st V King Edward's - drew 0 - 0

The girls came second

2nd XI v Sherborne - lost 0 - 2

3rd XI v Sherborne lost 1 - 2

Mrs Marsh said it was a great start to the girls' hockey season.

"The U13s won all their games but one in the Blundells tournament and are a team to watch out for this season," she said.

"The 1sts played in the Sherborne Tournament and have started very positively with a young squad which are improving quickly.

"The U15s improved with every match at Sherborne."

U15 XI v Plymouth College - postponed by Plymouth

U15B XI v Kings Ottery - won 3 - 1


Equestrian

Sunday 11 September

The school equestrian team took part in the Bicton NSEA competition last weekend.

Well done to our new and old team members on their excellent results.

Junior School pupils Hugo Hepburn and Eliza Heard joined Senior School pupils Olivia Eden,
Celia Nowell, Alice and Megan Bailey.

Class 1 (70/75)
Hugo, Olivia and Eliza won and qualified for National Championships at Addington. Hugo was first individually, Olivia ninth individually out of 13 teams who took part.

Class 2 (80/85)

Olivia, Celia, Alice, Megan and Hugo took part as a team and individually. The team came fifth and Hugo seventh individually out of 25 teams who took part

Class 3 (90/95)

Alice, Megan and Celia took part and came second. They have qualified for Championships at Addington out of 18 teams who took part.

So far two teams have qualified for show jumping and Alice has qualified with the Arena Eventing for Championships at Addington.

Well done to them all.
