Double victory for Exeter School Under 12 netball teams
Taunton Preparatory School Netball Tournament
On Saturday 21 January, the U12 A and B Netball Teams from Exeter School played in the Taunton Preparatory School Netball Tournament. The weather was cold and windy but the Exeter School girls played with great athleticism, determination and skill to succeed in winning both the A and B team tournaments.

The U12 A team won all four of their matches, beating Queen’s College, Taunton 8-2, Leweston School 6-1, Taunton Preparatory School 6-4 and West Buckland School 7-5. It was a great all round team effort with Lauren Sampson and Anna Johannson shooting very accurately, captain Bryony Sharma defending competitively and Harriet Milner showing agility and good ball control as Centre.
The U12 B team won three out of four matches and drew one. They beat Queen’s College, Taunton 4-2, Stoodley Knowle School 8-4 and West Buckland 4-0. The Exeter School team drew with Taunton Preparatory School but won the tournament because they had scored more goals overall. Olivia Emmett must be commended for her athleticism and accurate shooting, Sophie Warner-Housego for her excellent defending and Tara McKenna for linking the team together so well as Centre.
The players thoroughly deserve their success as they are very enthusiastic and committed and all show much promise for the future. The girls were awarded winners' medals and the teams were awarded trophies at a presentation after the tournament.
