Poem for the Prince of Wales

Thoughts on Remembrance Day

DSC07129 250.jpg
Imogen Goodfellow, a Year 6 pupil at Exeter Junior School, has received a letter from Clarence House after sending a poem she wrote for Remembrance Day to the Prince of Wales. Imogen, aged 10, impressed her teachers and family with her moving poem and was encouraged to send the poem to Prince Charles by her Father.

Imogen’s poem:

Remembrance Poem

Will you remember all the people who died
Will you remember all of the families who suffered
Will you remember the wars
Will you remember

Imagine if you were one of those people
Imagine if you were someone in that family
Imagine what you would feel like
Just imagine

Can you remember all those wars
Can you remember all those lives lost
Can you remember and will you remember

Imogen Goodfellow
Aged 10

Just before Christmas, Imogen was delighted to receive a reply from Clarence House thanking her for her kind letter and the poignant poem she had composed, along with a photograph of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Imogen said: “I didn’t realise that I could write to such important people until my Dad suggested it and I was so happy to receive a reply. I will treasure the letter for a long time.”
