Rugby Under-10s reach competition semi-final
Queen’s College U10 Tournament
On Saturday 12th November, a squad of twelve Under 10 rugby players (F. Chambers (C), J. Daly, H.Emmett, C. Raworth, J. Horler, T.Daly, O.Stewart, A. Machell, J Seaward, M. Threadingham, C.Pullen and D.Reay) competed in a tournament attracting the cream of rugby-playing schools in the south-west of England.
As the scores below attest, the boys performed superbly in a highly competitive opening round of pool games, and progressed as group stage winners. The quarter final against Chafyn Grove was an extremely close affair, sapping much of the squad’s energy ahead of the semi-final against eventual tournament winners, Stover. This team were deserved victors, with a physically large and quick squad that proved just too much for us at the wrong end of the tournament.
Nonetheless, the many supporting parents from EJS were full of praise and pride for their boys, who were magnificent throughout the day – both on and off the pitch. It was a pleasure to be with them and witness their ever-developing skills and courage. Well done to them all!
