Pupils enjoy live football, despite heavy defeat!
Exeter City FC Matchday Special
On Saturday 15th October, 46 Junior School pupils took part in a Matchday Special at Exeter City FC. Once again, our children had a great time on a very pleasant autumn day. This year we incorporated an extra treat for both pupils and parents alike, with an opportunity to watch the Rugby World Cup semi-final between Wales and France on the screen in the Junior School Hall. After coffee and croissants for the adults, our budding young footballers took part in a number of activities on the school field, with the magnificently refurbished pavilion in the background.
The Football in the Community coaches commented on our excellent facilities and the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the fact that, once again, we were blessed with fantastic weather for the coaching session!
After a snack and a drink, the children changed and went by coach to St James’s Park, home of the Grecians.
After some pizza and a number of presentations from the morning, we watched an entertaining League One encounter between Exeter City and Huddersfield. Fortunately, the 4 – 0 defeat for the home side didn’t dampen the positive attitude of our pupils towards their local Football League side. The only way is up!
