Primary Maths Challenge 2011

Years Four and Five join Year Six contestants

During the week beginning 21 November, pupils from all over the country took part in the Primary Maths Challenge. The paper gives all participants a chance to get a number of questions correct, but is challenging enough to stretch the contestants and encourage higher-order thinking!

Adam Seaward, one of our Gold Certificate winners, writes:
The Maths Challenge is a challenge for pupils in Year 6, but children under that age (from our school) were still entered. In total, 118 pupils took part, from Upper One to Upper Two. The last few questions were particularly tricky!

Good luck to the highest scorers, who we hope will be invited to the final next February, and congratulations to all pupils who took part!
