Contentment
Form One B Chapel Assembly for school and parents
Form One B, one of the two youngest (Year 3) forms in the Junior School, have been talking in PSHE lessons about the fact that we are all special and deserve to be happy and content. They recently put on an assembly for the whole Junior School entitled ‘Contentment’, linked to the week’s theme ‘I am special’. It took place in the Chapel and Form One B parents were also invited.
The pupils shared their thoughts on what made them happy, such as family, friends, football and food! They read out a poem and then retold the story of The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, complete with actions, props and sound effects. The assembly finished with Form One B’s version of If you’re happy and you know it, which saw everyone joining in with 'If you’re happy and you know it give me five', then '…shake yourself' and '…smiley face' - doing all three together proved quite a challenge!
The key message of the assembly was that sometimes the things which make us happy can be quite simple and right under our nose.
Our thanks to Ms Barnes and Form One B for sharing this message with us.
